This ceramic vase is wrapped in a handwoven rattan sleeve that partly conceals the lower body while leaving the glazed neck exposed. The combination of smooth ceramic and woven fibre creates a subtle dialogue between two materials that have aged in different ways yet now sit comfortably together. The warm brown rattan has mellowed over time, complementing the darker glazed ceramic beneath.
